Gingerbread Luncheon

A few of our ladies took joy in creating an Aloha Gingerbread house this year at The Sutton Place Hotel's 12st Annual Holiday Gingerbread luncheon.


A fun filled day where they designed and created an amazing house. Which is now on display in their lobby for the holiday season.

Mixology contest

It was an afternoon of laughs and funny faces when that mix up wasn't just right.

 

3 teams competed to create 5 different drinks all using the ingredient

"Red Essence, Tomato Juice Beverage"

 

After carful testing a winner was announced!

" The Groupie "
was the unanimous winner with a squeeze of lime and a hot pepper to taste.

Longest Day fundraiser - 5th Annual

The sun shone on us again this year. We were blessed and know that one day we won't be so lucky with the weather.

A new exciting venue was picked, mainly because of the insane parking prices last year. We set up for our 5th Annual Longest Day Fundraiser on the lovely Iona Jetty, Richmond. We picked this location, because of the view of open ocean. Which you can see from the beach as well as the 4km Jetty. Amazing bird life all around, dogs are welcome and free parking !

Unfortunaly this year Marie from Insight toWellness was not able to give us our pre-race stretch, but we hope she will be able to join us next year.

 

 

Zahida was the first to cross the finish line after an 8km run.

 

Followed very quickly by our fastest walker, Carol.

It was the longest walk event we've done at 5 km

 

This year we had the most consistence enter for Sexy Shorts!

Karen took the prize again with her sexy coral shorts.

 

 

Nicole took the runner up prize with her
psychedelic black and white shorts.

We are holding this in the driest part of the lower mainland at the spectacular Iona Park (just south of YVR).

Friday Wine Down

Vancouver is in Bloom

Today is the start to the annual Vancouver Cherry Bloosom Festival.

Many of us do lunchtime walks around the seawall. Here are a few of the lovely tress we get to see.

Put up the bumpers, we're going bowling

 

On a dark March evening, we laced up our bowling shoes and headed out onto the lanes. With a couple veterans and a couple first timers, we all had a great time !

 

A lot of smack talk all day in the office as the teams were picked

and bowling names where chosen.

 Team 1 was in the lead the entire game, but with a lucky streak

Team 2 snagged the win, by 6 point!

Hollyburn snow shoe trip

We are all regular snow shoe grinders so finding something that is a challange is not always that easy. Well...Hollyburn Mountain is a challenge, Cypress Mountain.

 

Just over an hour hike up, some of it enjoyable, up and down small hills in amoungst the trees. Passing by the cross country skiers. But then it is straight up!

 

 

 Reaching the top is well worth the huffing, puffing and sweat as you have a 360' view. You feel like you're on top of the world. Being so close to the Lions you think, if we keep going we'll be there in a few hours!! But we all know better than that !
